About the project
Following the success of our previous squash streaming setup, we enhanced our setup to deliver an even more dynamic and viewer-friendly experience for 2024 Eredivisie. A key figure in the development and testing process was Sander van der Brackel, founder of SquashTV.local and one of our most experienced and active users in the field of sports streaming.
This latest setup introduced several improvements, including a top-view camera angle, seamless Stream Deck control, and the continued integration of a custom scoreboard app and enhanced audio mixing. Together, these features allow squash tournament organizers and broadcasters to produce professional-quality, multi-camera live streams with dynamic on-screen overlays and crystal-clear sound — all with an accessible and easy-to-use solution.
Technical solution
The cameras installed at Frans Otten Stadium were equipped with the CamStreamer App for direct livestreaming from the cameras to YouTube. The main camera delivers a high-quality 2K stream at 50/60 fps, ensuring viewers at home can follow every fast-paced detail of the action.
For real-time, on-screen graphics such as live scores, player names, and sponsor logos, CamOverlay App was used in combination with Sander’s custom scoring application, integrated via the CamScripter App. Switching between camera angles was managed by the CamSwitcher App, enhanced for automated switching based on activity on the court — ensuring viewers always get the best angle at the right moment.
Professional-grade sound was delivered using the AXIS D3110, providing high-quality audio input and seamless mixing directly into the livestream.
One of the standout additions this year was the top-view camera, offering a unique overhead perspective of the court — ideal for capturing rallies and court positioning from above. To streamline control over camera switching, overlays, and scene changes, Sander also integrated a Stream Deck device into the setup, giving the operator simple, one-touch control over every aspect of the broadcast.
Conclusion
The result is a compact, flexible streaming solution that provides complete control directly on-site, without the need for a large production team. Spectators can enjoy a professional, multi-angle sports broadcast with live score graphics and excellent sound quality — all achieved with a cost-effective setup tailored perfectly for squash clubs and smaller sports events.
